Layouts Part 2

These are improved layouts :) I feel a lot happier about these layouts then the ones I did in Illustrator. Still am not completely happy about them but what can I do if i don't have the skill right now then I don't have the skill, all I can do I strive to improve.

Layouts:Part one

So these are layouts from two of the scenes I'm working on. They are still in the rough phase. I figure I want the characters to stick out a bit more so i excluded line work from the backgrounds.

As you can see they are still "lacking" (lol that's an understatement) , needs shadows and other little details. Quite Honestly I'm not good at backgrounds at all! hopefully I'll get better

WIP:Turnarounds

I honestly didn't like the turnarounds I had done, and since I set about changing the color palettes I thought I might as well change the turnarounds to reflect my changes to the color. Here are some works in progress for my turnarounds. I really adore the design of the bambiraptor for some reason.

During one of the critiques in class a fellow classmate made a comment about the way in which my stuff was colored, I have no idea how to pick a color palette (I honestly just choose whatever colors I like and run with it). So following their suggestions I spent about 2 weeks deciding on my color palettes, and at the suggestion of another friend (he mentioned I tend to over saturate things.) I turned down the saturation and tried to use more muted colors that would work better together. So the images above are the new color palettes for my film.

Tie-downs

Last week I felt like I really made no progress with my film, I had some issues with my other tablet had to get it taken care of and I'm currently trying to break myself through an art block.  This week though I feel like I am making progress. I have begun tie downs of a scene in flash and I'm hoping I can get that done soon. And I'm also trying to make sure I have the anatomy of the dinosaurs that I'm animating down so that there won't be errors in my animation.

I'm hoping that I can have this scene done by the end of this week. I'm also doing another poster I'm not satisfied with the one I did earlier so I'm going to do one that I'm satisfied with.

Wide Screen format?

So I had some issues with my rendered storyboards, they are in wide screen format, but my actual animation that i have right now is in a regular format. I like the way the wide screen format looks...dilemma dilemma. There a possibility that I might change it see if I can work around that little factor.

A little room for improvement

So Wednesday we had a critique quite honestly I was scared out of my wits. I'm really intimidated by my classmates their work is so good, and mine is so mediocre, I was afraid to show them my work. I know I need a lot of work. But it didn't go as badly as I thought it would. I got some really helpful constructive criticism from my classmates and I will take them seriously and try to improve my work based on their suggestions (but still maintaining my idea). I guess from here on out I'll try to seek guidance from my classmates. Today I'm going to work on making those improvements for Monday.
